Letters to My Kids: February 2017

This post is MUCH later than I would typically write it each month, but I have finally been able to view my past letters on my Compassion account. There has been a glitch so far this month that hasn't allowed sponsors to view their letter history. But now that the glitch has been fixed, I was able to save the letter that I wrote in February.

Last month, I wrote just once to all of my kids. I'd like to blame it on the fact that the month is short, but I think I just got lazy and couldn't think of another letter to write. I'm already doing better this month, as I've written twice and will probably write again.

Disclaimer: Writing once a month is not a bad amount of writing for your sponsored children. In fact, it's great! My personal goal each month, though, is to write 2-3 times. It doesn't always happen that way, as you can see, but I do like to write more, when I can manage it. If I can't, I can rest assured in the fact that my kids still heard from me that month.

Last month, I wrote to all of my kids about the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Basically, I introduced that I would be sharing a popular story from my country, I retold the story in my own words, cutting it down a bit to fit on the letter template, shared the moral of the story, and then asked each child if they had a popular story from their country that they would be willing to share with me. I've asked that question in the past and got a good story or two back. I'm hoping for some great stories this time!

Here is the letter that I sent:

  1. I love the idea of sharing this story!! I've been toying with the ideas of sharing stories like this and asking the kids to send me ones from their countries....
