Three Letter Tuesday: Volume 13

Okay, okay, I know that my Saturday post said that I would be posting something else between then and now, but I didn't. I've been totally sick and then all of a sudden, the weekend was over and I had to teach again. But, I do have a post planned for tomorrow night and then probably also one on Saturday. At some point, maybe my blog will get un-boring again.

This first letter is from one of my sweet boys. Lenin is writing to me on the How I Have Fun template. Lenin is still little and I don't know too much about him, but I just have this odd connection with him. It's like I can feel how special of a boy he is. I hope we get to write to each other for many years to come.

Lenin is 7 years old, lives in Peru, and his letter is dated August 17th, 2018.

He wants to know, what is your favorite dish? Lenin asks you to pray for his family so that God takes care of them. He says goodbye with love.

The next letter is my very first letter from Vitor. And, as it turns out, it's actually a letter to his prayer partner Muzuro. ;)

Vitor is 14 years old and lives in Brazil. He wrote this letter on August 11th, 2018.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Dear Kayla,

I was very happy to receive your letter and know that you sponsor other children and write letters to them. I am happy to know that I have a prayer partner named Muzuro and that he is 15 years old. Five Letter Friday: Volume 4

So...it's already past 10:00 p.m on Friday and I haven't typed up five letters yet to share with my viewers. Let's see if I can do it quickly and get it posted before it's officially Saturday and I make myself a liar. ;)

Today's first letter comes from Jonathan, who, apparently, does not like how hot the weather is there. :)

Jonathan is 9 years old and lives in Burkina Faso. His letter is not dated.

________________________________________________________________________________

Hello Dear Kayla,

I am very happy to write you this letter. My family and I are very fine and I hope the same is true for you. I thank you very much for the letters that you send to me. My parents and I are very happy about it. I pray that God supports you in every aspect of your life. May He reward you. In my country, the weather is very hot. I hope it's not as hot there as it is here. In a few days, we will be in the rainy season. That will reduce the temperature. Thank you very much for letting me hear from you. At school, everything is going well too and soon we will have our school break.

Up next is a letter template entitled My Project Learning and this letter comes from one of my newest girls, Amina. I am still learning about her, so these templates are so helpful.

She says that she has started school and everything is going well. She says pray for her that she can easily pick up things while at school. May God bless you.

________________________________________________________________________________

This next letter is a super short note from Enmanuel, who apparently had better things to do than waste time on his letter writing that day at the project. ;)

Enmanuel is 10 years old and he lives in the Dominican Republic. He wrote this letter on May 29th, 2018.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Hello Dear Sponsor Kayla,

Attempt Catch Up #2

Well, it's been nearly two weeks since I last did a major post like this. That time, it was just with template letters. I originally intended for this post to be just non-template letters. However, I seem to have many more little kids in my family these days, and just don't have enough non-template letters to share. So this post will be a mixture of everything.

Well, we'll start with a letter from Agness. She wasn't feeling extremely chatty in this letter. ;)

Agness is 14 years old and lives in Tanzania. Her letter is dated March 10th, 2018.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Dear Kayla,

I greet you in the name of Jesus. I would like to inform you that in the near future, we are going to sit for our midterm exams, before the Easter holiday. I request your prayers that I do well. I hope all is well with you. I do not have much to say. Please extend my regards to Gage and Chloe.

Your Beloved,
Agness

_________________________________________________________________________________

Now, a letter from Kwizera. It has taken me literal years to get this guy to open up in his letters. I'm now starting to see more and more details and I LOVE it.

Kwizera is 13 years old, from Rwanda, and he wrote this letter on March 10th, 2018.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Dear My Parent, Whom I Love So Much,

I first greet you in the name of Jesus Christ. In school, we are going to do exams. About Rwanda, now it is raining heavily. I am very glad for the letter you sent to me, wishing me a merry Christmas. It really made me glad for you sent me beautiful photos of the birth of Jesus and gave me a gift. I am happy that you read my letter and it made you happy. May God bless you and your family. I was glad for the photos you sent me of the birth of Jesus Christ and of you with your mother and sister. I was very glad to hear of the tree that gives light of green color. I am glad that you will celebrate Easter in your country.

From,
Kwizera

_________________________________________________________________________________

Onto a letter from little Shakilla. I am going to say this is the first letter I've received from her, because I'm pretty sure it is. However, I'm not going to look back into my records right now and find out if that is actually true. So, if you have seen another letter from Shakilla on this blog, then disregard what I said. ;)

Next up is a letter from Yohannis. This time, he is writing to me about his Hobbies & Pets. I have seen this template from other kids too and to me, it seems like such an odd combination. How do pets and hobbies relate to each other? It's still great information to know, though.

________________________________________________________________________________

Now I'll share a letter from Hillary, who is writing to me about his Holiday/School Break. I think the template letters from this country are my favorite. They are always long and leave the questions very open ended, for the kids to write what they want. The multiple choice templates are good enough, but they don't give the kids much chance to think of their own answers.

Hillary is 7 years old and lives in Kenya. His letter is dated March 24th, 2018.

________________________________________________________________________________

Yours,
Hillary

She would like to know how you are doing and please send family photos to her. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly.

(Written by her mother)

I will have a school holiday soon. Please pray for me always. Merry Christmas.

Form Letter Frenzy!

I think this is how I will be doing my posts from here on out. It seems to have been successful the last few times I did it; I will keep form letters, from younger kids, together in a post and I will keep letters from older kids together in their own post.

Today will be one of my form letter posts. Love from the littles. Gotta love that.

First, a letter from Ernest. Despite Ernest's age, he continues to have a tutor write for him. Unfortunately, I don't hear from Ernest very often and when I do, I don't get any information at all. His letters are the same every time. It seems that he is not allowed to write for himself at all. His letters have been the same for the entire three years I've been writing to him. I can't figure it out. I really want to hear from HIM.

Ernest is 12 years old and lives in Ghana. His letter is dated October 16th, 2017.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Dear Kayla,

1. Thank you message for sponsor: Ernest says thank you so much for everything you are doing for him.

2. Child's new experiences at project/home/school: He says he has been promoted to the next class in school.

3. Child's response to sponsor questions: Ernest says he and his family are doing well.

4. Prayer request from child: He says pray for God's protection for him.

5. Prayer for sponsor: He says may God richly bless you.

6. Memory verse: Matthew 6:11, "Give us today our daily bread."

Letters from Spanish Speaking Kiddos

I think I am running out of ways to group these letters together. But sorting by language is a new one. All of the letters I share today were written by Spanish speaking kiddos. I guess that's as good as any way to share them, right?

I'll start with a letter from an itty-bitty, who is writing to me about the climate where she lives. Also, whenever a child tells me what they want to be when they grow up, my favorite question to ask is, "What makes a ___________ a good _________?" Carolin told me she wants to be a teacher so I asked her, "What a teacher a good teacher?" I love her answer.

This letter is written by Carolin, who is 5 year old and lives in the Dominican Republic. Her letter is dated August 27th, 2017.

________________________________________________________________________________

1. We have a: Hot Season

2. Right now the weather is: Sunny

3. When the weather is sunny, I like to: Eat ice cream

4. When the weather is rainy, I like to: Watch TV

5. My favorite season is: Spring

Dear Kayla,

May the peace of the Lord continue blessing you. I'm so happy for the letter I received from you. A good teacher should love the children so that the students wish to learn to do their homework. I would like to visit the United States someday. I am doing very well, thank God. I already started school. Please pray for my family.

________________________________________________________________________________

In this letter from sweet Sunrei, I get to hear about all kinds of fun celebrations and outings!

Sunrei is 10 years old and lives in Peru. Her letter is not dated.

________________________________________________________________________________

Dear Sponsor Kayla,

Greetings in the powerful love of Christ. Thank you for the beautiful letters sent by the children. How beautiful is your country! Let me tell you that we celebrated birthdays in the church. There was cake, candies, a biblical contests, and a singing contest. It was funny. In July, we celebrated National Holidays. I went on a trip to a zoo and to the mall with my family. In August, we will celebrate Sponsor Day and Children's Day. There will be many games, cake, and candies. We will also put a decorative mural where there will be a photo of you and biblical cards too. On July 26th, I was on vacation. I went on a trip with my grandfather to see animals. I ate rice with duck cooked with cilantro and beer. I had a nice vacation. Now I am at school and I am happy with my classmates. I am learning more about God. I always pray for you that you do well at everything. When is your birthday? What season do you like the most? I ask you to pray for my parents so they can know God. Also pray for my little sisters. Goodbye with a lot of love.

Now a great letter from one of my favorite Honduran boys (I have a lot of favorites); Carlos Alexander. I can't stop calling him by both of his names because, to me, he was Alexander for years and now he goes by Carlos only. I use both of his names now when I talk about him. He signs his letters with both names.

Carlos Alexander is 16 years old. His letter was written on August 18th, 2017.

Hello Dear Kayla,

I hope that you are in good health. I wish with all my heart that you are in good health. My favorite activity is playing my friends outside of the house. When I am inside the house, I like playing with my siblings. I give thanks for the letter and for the photo in which you appear. It is very beautiful. At the CDC, they teach me the word of God. I want to tell you that I am doing very well at school. My little brother is growing very fast. His name is Walter Julian. My little sister is one year old and her name is Evelin. She is very playful and pretty. Pray for me and my family. I would like to know, do you play any musical instrument? I say goodbye with a big hug.
