Three Letter Tuesday: Volume 27

I almost forgot about today's post, because I got my days all mixed up. With yesterday being a day off of school, I spent much of today thinking it was Monday. I got back on track eventually.

Tomorrow is Wednesday. I will (hopefully) remember.

Today's first letter comes to us from Tern. He is writing this letter to me on the template called My Hobbies and Pets.

Tern is 6 years old, live in Thailand, and he wrote this letter on November 11th, 2018.

_________________________________________________________________________________

1. Some of my hobbies are: Playing with friends & Playing games & sports

2. I like to do my hobbies with: My friends

3. Do you have a pet? No

4. I would like to have as a pet: A Dog

5. I would name my pet: Euro

Dear Kayla,

Hello. I am Ms. Chuanchom, an aunt of Tern. I'm writing on behalf of him because he can't write for himself. He is working on writing. His family now has one more member. His great aunt just delivered a daughter named Pukpang. She is now 2 months old. Tern had an opportunity to visit his parents who live in another province. His parents took him to the beach. He likes playing in the sea. He had a lot of fun. Do you travel often? The Christmas festival is coming. How do you prepare for Christmas? The church is preparing the children for a Christmas performance. Please pray for the preparation and for Tern's studying. May God bless you always.

________________________________________________________________________________

Up next is a nice, joyful letter from Jonathan. I love hearing about how excited our Compassion kids get excited for Christmas. It's kind of fun to get these letters after Christmas and relive magic through a child's eyes.

Jonathan is 10 years old and lives in Burkina Faso. His letter is dated December 8th, 2018.

Dear Kayla,

Hello! How are you doing? I hope that you are doing well and that your family and everybody are doing very well. My family and I are doing very well, by the grace of God. I really like the story about the frog. The frog had fun after the princess kept her promises to the frog. Thank you for this funny story. I read the bible passage Luke 2:6-18 that you sent me. This verse is about the birth of Jesus Christ, our savior. The birth of Jesus is really a gift and a miracle that God sent to us. I wish you a merry Christmas!

_______________________________________________________________________________

Today's last letter comes from Emanise who, you guessed it, is also talking about Christmas. It's that time of year in sponsorship land.

Emanise is 18 years old, lives in Haiti, and wrote this letter on December 23rd, 2018.

Dear Kayla,

It is always a great pleasure for me every time I have the opportunity to write a letter to you. How are you and your family? How are your activities? As for me, everything is going well. I would like to let you know about my activities during this time of year. I tell you that I spent another wonderful Christmas celebration at the project. On Saturday the 15th, we had a wonderful Christmas celebration and it was amazing. We have been talking about the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Do you know about that? I will share it with many people. I thank you for your letters and your support. Please continue to pray for me and I will pray for you. Merry Christmas and happy new year 2019!

Five Letter (Almost Not) Friday: Volume 11

It is nearly 11 p.m as I begin to type this. I am not sure how I forgot about posting this. Then today, I worked at the daycare and completely forgot that it was even Friday.

Today's first letter comes from Jonathan who just seems to be responding to a few letters I wrote.

Jonathan is 9 years old, lives in Burkina Faso, and he wrote this letter on August 2nd, 2018.

This last letter is from sweet, sensitive Muzuro. Recently, the prayer partner I had paired Muzuro up with letter the Compassion project, so I paired him up with another child. It seems like I may have picked the perfect partner for him!

________________________________________________________________________________

Dear Kayla,

I would just like to say hi to you, for what you have written to me. I thank God for the stories you have written to me. When I read the other letter about Anju, I got worried for him and said thank God for what you have done unto him. I want to ask that when he traveled to the new country, did you talk to him? When I read of the new boy Vitor, I got happy. I said thank you to Jesus because I saw Vitor's photo. I want to say a brief thing about his country. His country is Brazil and that is my favorite team in the World Cup. I don't know why I like Brazil like that. Maybe Brazil is a blessed country. I pray to God that Brazil will succeed in their matches and get that trophy! I don't have much else to say and I will pray for Vitor; that everything he wants will be provided by our almighty God. I hope he's in pray also because God listens to our cries. May the almighty God bless you.

Muzuro Michael

Now a letter from Zenebu, who is telling me about some of the things in her community. Some of these countries are really getting some wonderful template letters. They include more pictures and open ended questions, that give children opportunity to match pictures to words to help them out, or answer questions in their own way.

Zenebu is 6 years old and lives in Ethiopia. Her letter is dated October 26th, 2017 (quite a long delay on this one).

Hello Dear Kayla,

How are you? I am very well, thanks to God. My project is named My Hope CDC and I attend my project one day a week. My project is located three blocks away from my house. The regular activities that we do in my project are: learn the Bible and songs about God. The thing I like the most about the staff at my project is that they are patient and that each day I attend class, they talk to me about God. I have received your letter and I am glad that you have traditions. It is good to share them with your family. Your family is very pretty. Until this day, I had not heard the word "cornucopia." Thank you for sending a photo of it. Do you have more sisters besides Jordan? I ask you to please always care my family and me in your prayers. Thank you for the Christmas gift. I say goodbye with hugs and kisses.

Carlos

How are you? I hope you are well. How is your family? Is it very cold over there? In my school they changed the uniform. It is now a shirt with a tie and pants. Please pray for me and my family. We always pray for you. How is Brandilyn? I hope you are good. Did you get married? How are the children you care for? What do you study? What animals do you like? I like puppies. In my home, there are two beautiful puppies. I like the photos you sent me. I love you. Take care.

With Love,

Dear Ms. Kayla,

Good day! I'm glad to receive a letter from you! Thank you for sharing about the achievement of your other sponsored child, Jhon, your other sponsored child Emanise, the solar eclipse, and your greeting for my birthday. Thank you so much for sharing those things with me. Please do extend my congratulations to Jhon and pass my greetings onto Emanise. I'm glad to also know about the solar eclipse. Yes, we do experience those here, as well. In fact, we just had one this year, but sad to say, I didn't see it, maybe because it was in the southern part of the country. And also thank you for your birthday greetings! I appreciate it! I'm glad also that you are enjoying taking care of Gage and Chloe. They are surely growing to be good and smart kids. I would be glad to send you a photo of my family, but I can't do it now. Maybe in my next letter I will have it for you. By the way, how are you going to celebrate Christmas? About me here, I am doing fine with my family. I want to request that you continue praying for our daily needs and protection. Merry Christmas to you and your family. God bless you!

Nikko
