Sunday Praise

Today I am extremely thankful for a few things.

This morning in the nursery at church, which is where I work on Sunday mornings, I got to hold, feed, smile at, and rock to sleep a beautiful 2 month old baby girl. She was just precious. Babies are just so perfect, fearfully and wonderfully made.

I am thankful for my friend Rosie who will always take time to answer me back when I text her. This is quite a feat, because I seem to have to text her quite a few times a day to make it through, haha.

I'm also extremely grateful for my friend Deborah. She is a very talented graphic artist (I think that's the right term). She made this beautiful picture with me. I think I may be brave enough soon to tell my sposnored children about each other and this will be a great picture to share with them. Check this out:

God sure has blessed me with amazing people in my life.

  1. What a great picture! I'm just getting responses from my sponsored kits about when I told them about each other - they have all been so grateful to know of their "extended" family : ) and have all said they are praying for each other now.

    1. I've been thinking about it for awhile now, but I've always been a little nervous about doing so. I didn't want a child to start feeling like I love the other kids more than him. I'm been especially weary about my Abu-Bakarr. I'm not sure if I'm feeling this way because he's the "baby" in the family, because he was my first sponsored child, or if I feel like this because he doesn't have parents. I don't want him to feel unloved or not as special. His letter will be most difficult to write, but I feel like it's the right time to introduce them all to each other.

  2. What a cool photo collage! Although I have mentioned my kids to eachother, I just started a letter theme for the next 6 weeks...every 2 weeks I am sending my kids info about one of their Compassion brothers and sisters so they can get to know eachother, and also telling them about the countries they live in and their culture (I'm a geography nerd). Anyways, I think the collage is a great way to introduce them to eachother!

    1. I love the idea of introducting their culture to each other! I love that idea! Do you mind if I do the same thing? After I tell them about each other, of course. Two of my kiddos favorite subjects are history/geography. I think they would love this!

    2. You definitely should! One of my kids loves geography, and that is actually what gave me the idea. I wanted to teach her about places around the world, and what better place to start than where her Compassion siblings live.

    3. I'm definitely going to! I have a few letters planned before I'm going to start this series of letters, but I can't wait!

  3. Definitely great things to be thankful for! Love the collage! I've never thought of letting our Compassion kids know about each other. Hmmm, I'm gong to have to change that!

    Blessings!

    1. I had never thought about it until a few months, when I heard some other people doing it. The concept made me a little nervous at first, but I think with this collage, God showed me that it would be a great way to introduce them to each other. I'm just going to be sure that they understand that I love just as much as I always have, that they are not 2nd, 3rd, etc, after another child.
