Next Round of "Letters"

Each of my sponsored children got a Mother's Day themed letter this week. I gave each child a blank card to write their mother a special message of their own.

Abu-Bakarr's 10th birthday is on May 10th. I put together this package together for him. Two shirts, a hat, socks, a mini Connect 4 game, and two cups.

I'm also sending a package to Xhuliano just  for the fun of it. I recently found out that he has two younger sisters and I couldn't help but go out and buy mini baby dolls for them. I also bought Xhuliano a green shirt becasue green is his favorite color. I also bought two pairs of socks for each child. Excited to send this one along!

  1. What a great idea to send them Mother's Day cards to give their mothers. And I LOVE that you can send gifts to some of your kids! I'm sure they love the great gifts you send them!

    1. One of the main reasons that I sponsor through WV is that we are able to send anything we want to them. Sierra Leone doesn't have a size or a weight limit and Albania has a 10.5"x15" envelope limit. I am limited to how often I can send things to them though because it costs around 15-20 dollars to send each package.

  2. I love this idea of sending a blank card for them to write to their mothers...you are brilliant! I can't wait to do this for my kids. (Hopefully I will remember!)

    1. Thanks for calling me brilliant! Haha. I was pretty proud of the idea too. I plan to do the same thing for Father's Day too. Mother's Day is May 13th. Send soon! Haha.

    2. Last year I wrote about both Mother's Day and Father's Day and asked all my kids if they celebrate those days, too. Most replied that, yes, they do....so this will be a perfect follow-up this year.

    3. You're right. Perfect! I'm a pretty big collecter of notecards and I like to send them along to my kiddos. It helps to cut down on the giant stack I have all the time. Plus, I like to write notes on pretty cards.

  3. I just sent off my Easter cards today. You are making me realize how far behind I am! I have included little notes to the mom's for Mother's Day in the past, but the blank cards for the kids to give is a wonderful idea! (think I will steal it :)

    1. Don't feel bad! Seriously, I don't really do anything with my life except for think of things to write and then actually writing my sponsored children. I have close to zero social life. You're fine! Mother's Day is still like three months away!
