For a couple weeks now, I have been watching this little boy. I've been checking the World Vision website to
Today, at naptime in my class, I zoned out a little bit and daydreamed about sponsoring this cutie. Right then, I took out some paper and wrote down everything I spend money on throughout the month. Then, I scratched something out completely. With this one thing gone each money, there will be more than enough to sponsor my new little guy.
Welcome Domenik from Albania:
Domenik is 6 years old. He lives with his parents and 1 sister. He is not yet in school. He enjoys playing soccer and "He helps at home by being good." How cute is that?
This is the day we remember that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I think it's pretty fitting that Domenik is wearing a cross necklace.
This boy is already so loved.
Yay!!!!! That's so awesome!!! Is he from the new ADP?
ReplyDeleteMy Albanian girl has been such an enormous blessing to me.
Yep! He's from the new ADP. I knew that I wanted to sponsor from them sometime this year, I just had no idea it would be so soon. I already love Domenik (I'm already calling him "D") so much!
DeleteI just sponsored a new girl from one of Romania's new ADP's last week. I'm literally forcing myself not to look at the new Albania ADP because I know if I do I'll end up finding someone that touches my heart!
DeleteI would say that maybe I should have waited longer to look at the pictures in the new Albania ADP, but then I may not have this wonderful boy in my life. I'm so glad I took the leap today!
DeleteI'm glad you did too! He's adorable!
DeleteWhat is the ADP?
DeleteI'm not comfortable sharing that over the internet, I'm sorry. It's the name of his community. On the off chance that somebody who means harm reads it.
DeleteYou answered my question, I was only looking for a general answer. :)
DeleteOh, got it! Sorry! I figured you were asking what specific ADP he was in. If you're familiar with Compassion, the ADP is basically like the project, but ADPs cover a much larger area.
DeleteI am still trying to figure out World Vision. My aunt moved to argentina and left me two boys from brazil. one is compassion and the second one is world vision. I have a couple of qwestions about sending packages.
DeleteCongratulations! He's lovely :)
ReplyDeleteFrom reading your blog I'm almost decided that my next sponsored child (whenever that may be. Not in the near future) will be a boy from Albania. You've totally sold them to me!:)
I like that you've ALMOST decided, haha. Isn't it always that way? We never truly know until God gives us that green light. If you do decide to sponsor an Albanian boy, or girl for that matter, you'll be totally blessed!
DeleteHaha I know. I really like the sound of sponsoring there, but I guess when the time comes & I'm looking, a child will capture my heart rather than a country. I never set out to sponsor in Uganda for example, it just happened.
DeleteThe thing that frustrates me is that at this moment, I COULD afford another child. I dont earn much but I dont spend a lot either. However I dont know what my work situation will be long term at the moment, so I'm holding back.
Isn't patience difficult? Haha!
Patience is probably the thing I struggle with the most. Last year, the word I chose to work on as my new year's resolution was patience. I think I made leaps and bounds in improvement, but it's definitely still something I had to focus on everyday.
DeleteI pray that at just the right time, you will know exactly when and who you are meant to sponsor.
He is so cute! I agree with Rachael and you could make a good sales person or something ;) I love his cross. cannot wait to see the letters you get from him.
ReplyDeleteI would love to travel around and encourage people to sponsor Albanian boys! Too bad that's nto a real job, eh?
DeleteI'm hoping in a little over a month or two, we will all be reading Domenik's first letter.
How exciting!!! He's precious!!!! Have fun writing!!!!!! And it's so encouraging to hear about others making sacrifices to support more kids :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that it wasn't a big sacrifice to find the money. There are some things that I spend way too much money on, just because I can. Cutting back on these things is more healthy for me and it can benefit another sweet child.
DeleteCongratulations on Dominic! Oh he is a sweetie! Well, it takes courage to wear a cross over there from what I've heard and read. I hope you will find a letter soon! Enjoy your new little friend. The kids really look up to you and connect with you!
