I liked the idea (probably because it was my idea) so much that I decided to repeat it. Without further ado, here is the breakdown of how many letters I received this year.
The ones with the lower amounts of letters are mostly new kids. I've only been writing to these kids for a few months. However, the kids from Ethiopia have all been around for over a year but, unfortunately, the letter writing from there really isn't that great. As far as Florenc goes, I'm not sure what the slowdown is with him. He did just start high school this year, so maybe he's just extra busy.
Once again, Xhuliano was the winner! He wrote me 12 letters!
I received 6 letters each from Sagitaria, Sandesh, Solomon, Jhon, Wendjy, and Fogwin.
I received five letters each from Kalpesh, Celeste, Sadiya, Kwizera, Khushi, Nikko, Brenda, Derrick, and Alexander.
Abu, Sagar, and Maria each wrote me four letters.
Florenc, Enantenesh, Eric, Lina, and Emanuel each wrote me three letters.
I received two letters each from Daniel, Elias, Allison, Taye, and Caleb.
Chintada, Nandini, Lazarus, and Melaku all wrote me one letter each.
If you were counting, that's a total of 134 letters. Whoo hoo! Great year!
Wow!!! That's awesome!! What a fun idea to go back and see the numbers.

ReplyDeleteThat is a great amount of letters :-) how nice that so many are getting to the number 6! I figured mine out too, but then lost the paper I wrote it on :( . I recall the most I had was 6 and that was from my girl in RW. I had several with 5 from my kids in KE. Like you I had only two, or even just one, from kids in ET. But regardless the # they sure are all blessings :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that Compassion's 6 letters a year system is working so well! Even the kids that we've only received 5 letters from this year still could have written another letter in 2014 that we haven't received yet.
DeleteWow lots of letters! That's awesome. :) My Albanian girl definitely wins by a mile, though I don't have near as many kids as you do. One of my Romanian girls only sent me one letter all year. I've been struggling hard with getting to know her, and didn't even receive a progress report this year. I'll admit I've been tempted to cut my losses and cancel her sponsorship, but something keeps me reaching out to her and won't let me give up on her. Perhaps it's because she has 10 siblings and lives in one of the poorest counties in Romania. I don't know. Regardless, I always enjoy visiting your blog and hearing about your kids. It helps keep me motivated to write when I'm feeling a bit lazy. :) ;)
ReplyDeleteI completely understand that feeling! I went two years without getting a new photo, updated information, or letters at all from Abu, when he was younger. Something in me couldn't cancel on him, though, and I'm really glad that I didn't!
DeleteYeah, that's how I am feeling about Maria. There's just something that will not let me cancel her! I did recently get a photo and a thank-you letter from the financial gift I sent, and it looks like she got a lot of good stuff for her and her family, so that should keep me going for a while, hehehe. ;)
