What a Day!

Yesterday was a great day! I added four new kids to my family!

Recently, a company sponsored 1,000 children from Kenya, Wow, right?! They asked for all of those children to be assigned to correspondent sponsors. I put myself on the list to write to five of those kids. Today, two of them arrived: Mulwa and Faith. I should be getting the other three next week.

The other two children came from my friend Debbie. She had a few correspondent children, but she was a having a hard time finding time to write to them. She transferred her kids over to a few of the people in our online sponsorship group. I took on two of her kids: Swapna from India and Abbas from Uganda.

I am so excited to get to know these four new kids! I've already written them all a first letter!

  1. Congratulations on your beautiful new kids! I have Bijay in EI117 as well. He's been my correspondent for almost 6 years! He's 18 now, but has always written super regular letters in English. Since the project is so close to Kolkata and the letters don't require translation, it takes less than a month (usually) to receive them. There was once a blog post written about this project, as they had an excellent karate program for the girls. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find it :)
